Russell Peters awards the Russell Peters North Peel Scholarship

Russell Peters awarded student Randy Adams with the first Russell Peters North Peel Scolarship.

The scolarship, which is worth $20,000 will finance three years of college to a student with academic standing, this year being won by Randy Adams who has been accepted at Georgia College, for the Electrical Engineering Tehnician program.

Russell Peters decided to give this scolarship asa a sign of contribution for North Peel Secondary, Brampton, Ontario, which he believes has much to do with his success.

"When I was a teenager, North Peel was the best thing that ever happened to me," stated Russell Peters. "I finally felt like I belonged." - added the stand up comedian.

Known for his stand up comedy shows Russell Peters "Red, White and Brown" or "Outsourced", which you can watch in our video section, the comedian was listed on the Forbes as the highest earning stand-up comedians in the US in 2009.

Russell Peters is not as his first noble gesture, last year donating almost $500,000 to the Brampton Civic Hospital.

Recently, the comedian just set a new record in Australia, haivng an audience of over 13,300 people at his show at Sydney's Acer Arena.
