Paralympics Athletes Offended by Russell Brand!

Stand up comedian Russell Brand is known for his unconventional brand of stand up comedy. He is not afraid to offend and this time, his target was the paralympic athletes, which Brand said they have “novelty value”.

During a stand up comedy show, Russell Brand commented on the Olympics being a "waste of taxpayers' money". He then continued: "At least the Paralympics have some kind of novelty value or something." The comment came 48 hours before the beginning of the international Paralympic Day, held in Trafalgar Square.

Some of the top paralympic athletes considered Russell Brand’s comments being "offensive" and "careless". "We've worked harder than anyone to get here. We've suffered life-threatening illnesses. It's both patronizing and upsetting for Russell Brand to describe us as a novelty." This was Natasha Baker’s reply to the comedian’s joke. Natasha Baker is a 21 dressage star.
