Moontower Comedy Festival Final Recap

Moontower Comedy & Oddity Festival is now officially over. The second edition of this young festival was a huge success.

Throughout the event we saw about every form of comedy from stand-up to improv performances. The show focused this year on up-and-coming acts.

Brendon Walsh was everywhere throughout the week making showcases and keeping the audience entertained. He offered a bunch of commentaries on his own life experiences. As part of the lineup for "Assblasterz Inc." on Wednesday night, Sean O'Connor had the crowd laughing all the time during his performance. He talked about his attempts to sabotage his high school reunion through Facebook, his love for the singer Ke$ha, and his set-closing story of getting caught producing gay child porn in high school. Now that’s a story to tell.

Reggie Watts took the audience on an improvised journey about the music industry. We can never get enough of this. There are many more comedians worth to be mentioned but, on the other side, we have had our disappointments too. Brian Posehn and Janeane Garofalo left us without any trace of smile on our faces as their only jokes were about farting and disgust, respectively.

Compared to last year the festival has already grown into a much more efficient and professional operation. Moontower was loyally dedicated to bringing a high-quality comedy experience to Austin.
