"Mike & Molly" star Billy Gardell tapes Showtime comedy special "Road Dogs"

“Mike & Molly” star, Billy Gardell goes off the set to tape his next Showtime comedy special “Billy Gardell Presents Road Dogs” on June 13 at the Plaza Hotel & Casino. Taking the stage alongside Gardell are veteran comedians Don Learned, Earthquake and Bob Zany.

Before going big (literally) in Mike and Molly, the actor has had his own Comedy Central special, “Billy Gardell: Halftime” making Road Dogs the second one. He began touring at age 19 and opened for famous comedians like George Carlin and Dennis Miller. Gardell appeared in several feature films including "Bad Santa," "You, Me and Dupree" and "Avenging Angelo." TV shows Gardell has appeared on include "Yes, Dear," "The Practice," "Desperate Housewives," "My Name Is Earl," "Make Me Laugh" and "The King of Queens."

In addition, Gardell makes regular appearances on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and “Conan.” He also appears on E! network's "Chelsea Lately" as a roundtable participant.

Gardell listed Richard Pryor, George Carlin, John Candy and John Belushi as his influences.
