Dave Chappelle's impromptu show drew thousands people to Portland, Oregon

Dave Chappelle showed up Tuesday in Portland, Oregon and treated his fans with an impromptu show, Wednesday morning. After walking away from the TV deal for the Chappelle Show in 2005, the great comedian known also for his Block Party or his stand up comedy shows For What It's Worth and Killin' Them Softly, he kept a low profile until this month.

The rumours that Dave Chappelle is going to perform in the Pioneer Square in Portland, Oregon, circulated via Twitter and Facebook and text message alerts, drawing thousands of the comedian's fans.

The rumors were right and Dave Chappelle started performing around 1 a.m. in front of what was described as "one of the most remarkable spontaneous gatherings in Portland history".The comedian, who arrived alone with no security, stated that he is not there for the money and that he expected a few hundred, but he was happy to see the crowd.

The sound system was not fit for such a huge crowd, but people stood there even though they couldn't hear and proved that Dave Chappelle stand up is still loved and that the comedian is expected back.
