Comedian Jo Koy signs deal with WBTV

Comedian Jo Koy signed a talent deal with Warner Bros TV, to create a sitcom based on Jo Koy's stand up comedy.

The TV show will be based on Jo Koy's family, his life as a Filipino American and his ethnic-based humor. Jo Koy's TV show will be developed through Good Humor TV.

Better known for his regular presence on E!'s Chelsea Lately, Jo Koy is often on the roads, touring with his stand up comedy arround the country, in sold-out venuse.

Even though in the past there was a trend to develop a sitcom around stand up comedians, like Seinfeld, The Cosby Show or Eveybody Loves Raymon, it has been a while since a stand up comedian convinced a network to do that, but Jo Koy did it. Maybe he will be the next Seinfeld, who knows?
