BBC orders eight comedy pilots and two series

BBC follows Comedy Central’s footsteps and orders two comedy series and eight new online pilots. Nick Helm will star in “Uncle” series as the world’s most irresponsible uncle while “People Just Do Nothing” is a part of last year’s BCC mockumentary.

The online pilots include shows from Roughcut, Hat Trick, Objective, My Pockets and Tiger Aspect. “This wide range of shows and new talents cement BBC Three’s place as the key channel for emerging comedy stars," says Shane Allen, controller, Comedy Commissioning. "Nick Helm is the most exciting writer/performer I’ve seen in years and the Comedy Feeds show serious commitment to finding the next best voices and faces of British comedy,” said controller of BBC Three, Zai Bennett.

The comedy feeds include “Bamboo – two morons are trying to open a nighclub, “Kerry” – a Kerry Howard production, “Fuzzbox” – puppet show, “C Bomb” – the godfather of the South Yorkshire dubtep scene, “The Cariad Show” – a Cariad Lloyd comedy show, “Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment “ , “The Committee Meeting” – with Elis James and Chris Cocoran and, finally, another mockymentary with Mona Yusefi “Going Native”.
