Born on September 2, 1971 Micah S. Katt Williams is an American comedian, rapper, and actor. He is best known for his role as Money Mike in Friday After Next as well as for his permed hair. Katt Williams has been making his mark in Hollywood for over 10 years. Beginning his career at an early age, the young comic quickly discovered that he had a gift for making people laugh. Beneath the pimp-like image that he puts on stage, comedian Katt Williams is a family man, a loving father of eight children.

Personal Life

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Dayton, Katt Williams was raised in a socially and politically charged family. With his father being a former member of the Black Panther Party, his parent’s influence and teachings may have been what caused him to briefly join the Nation of Islam later on in his life while living in the Bay Area

Giving his encouraging environment, comedian Katt Williams was reading at age 3 and when he was misbehaving, his parents banned him from reading as a form of punishment. Katt Williams attended Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School but was asked to leave and then he went at Colonel White High School where he was an outstanding pupil. When he was 12, he won a number of awards for science projects, which landed him a full scholarship to The National Science Academy in Dayton, but as soon as the young brain found out about the scholarship, he purposely failed a math test in order to be disqualified from participating in the program.

He soon escaped from home in order to pursuit his more creative side and to show the world the stand-up comedian who was craving to get loose. Soon to be very famous comedian, Katt Williams was homeless for four years in Coconut Grove, Miami, where he lived in a park. To make a living, he sold magazines and books door to door and robbed cars for radios. He was underage when he did his first live stand-up comedy routine in an improvisation bar where he was really well-received by the audience.

In 1995, stand-up comedian Katt Williams became the happy father of Micah. He was married to Quadirah Locus, but the marriage ended in divorce and he got the custody of Micah. Wanting to be a good father and to be close to his son, Katt took Micah with him in tours

Later on, when his talent brought him more money and implicitly a much better life, comedian Katt Williams adopted seven more children and is now the father of eight kids. He is as committed to his children as he is to his work but he doesn’t joke when it comes to them.

Despite his fame and humanitarian actions, in November 2009, Williams was arrested while working on a film in Coweta County, Georgia. According to police, Williams had allegedly broken into a home and took jewelry and other personal belongings. The homeowner called police and reported the theft and pointed the finger at Williams. He was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal trespass.


In 1999 stand-up comedian Katt Williams became a presence at The Improv, The Comedy Club, The Icehouse and even had his own room at The Hollywood Park Casino where he had a large, loyal following.

He’s become somewhat of a staple comedic force on the BET Network, appearing on shows such as Comic View, Rip the Runway, Black Carpet, 106th & Park, The BET Awards and BET Comedy Awards.

Being the host of the 1st Annual BET ‘Hip Hop’ Award Show from The Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, Katt Williams received a positive response from critics and had a chance to speak directly to Hip Hop audiences globally and share his insight on urban culture, folklore, lifestyle, history and music. The Award Show was an electrifying evening of non-stop homage and entertainment to the genre of Hip Hop music. Performances included Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Young Jeezy and T.I. while Award Nominees include everyone from Common and Busta Rhymes to DMX and Jay-Z.

In the summer of 2001, comedian Katt Williams was awarded Cedric the Entertainer’s Anheiser-Busch “Best Los Angeles Comic’s Award and in October the same year, Katt went on his first theatrical audition at New Line Cinema for Friday After Next, and landed the role of “Money Mike“, which has contributed to a large portion of his fan base.

His stand-up comedy concerts and videos which brought him fame and worldwide recognition are Katt Williams: Live: Let a Playa’ Play (2006), Pimp Chronicles Part 1 (2006), It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’ (2008), Katt Williams Presents: Katthouse (2009), Katt Williams Pimpadelic (2009), Katt Williams: 9 Lives (2010). These stand-up comedy video concerts were all released on DVD, and had an impressive success to the old fans and, inevitably recruited more fans.

He has also provided numerous skits and video appearances for artists such as The Game, Ludacris, T.I., E-40, Outkast, Lil’ Kim, Lyfe Jennings, Cyrano Williams, Nick Cannon, DJ Drama, Lil' Scrappy, Lil Jon, Oprah Winfrey, and others. In 2007 roastmastered the Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav.

Katt Williams also played as a supporting actor in movies like Repos (2006), Norbit (2007), The Perfect Holyday (2007), American Hustle: The Movie (2007), Epic Movie (2007), Internet Dating (2008), First Sunday (2008), Lonely Street (2009), Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (2010), Marshals (2011)
