Blake Clark is an American actor, stand-up comedian, voice artist and veteran of the Vietnam War, having served as a Captain with the 101st Airborne Division.

Personal Life

The stand-up comedian was born on February 2, 1946 in Macon, Georgia. The comic artist graduated from LaGrange College in 1969 with a degree in Performing arts.


Career The stand-up comedian and comic actor Blake Clark has been doing stand-up comedy in the club circuit, on Tonight Show, on HBO comedy specials, on Late Night with David Letterman, and The Conan O'Brien Show.

The decorated Infantry Platoon Leader brought the situation of the Vietnam Veteran to the American audiance in such a humorous and funny way, that his sketches and routines were "adopted" by numerous Veteran Organizations throughout the United States. The stand-up comedian has an original style, being an expert in transforming a tragic situation, like being in the war, into a funny standup routine.

Having moved from his home state of Georgia to Hollywood, the stand-up comedian started to perform stand-up comedy in numerous comedy shows, landed his first Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and soon was cast in his first of many recurring roles on television as Fred the Chauffeur on Remington Steele. In the early 1980s, before he became a national figure, the stand-up comedian started to perform in a string of guest starring spots on shows like M*A*S*H, Moonlighting, and St. Elmo's Fire.

During this time, the stand-up comedian was also featured in comedy specials on HBO, NBC, and ABC. The comedy roles kept pouring in for the gruff-voiced stand-up comedy actor, who has been Harry, the hardware guy on Home Improvement, Jules, the next door neighbor on The Drew Carey Show, Chet Hunter, the finagling father of Sean Hunter on Boy Meets World, Bob, the womanizing boss on the Jamie Foxx Show, the Farmer Fran, the unintelligible Cajun coach in The Waterboy.

The stand-up comedian is a warm, intelligent, funny and innovative social commentator with a quiet patriotism that he lives as well as portrays. His stand-up comedy runs the gamut from observation on the current military conflict to his Southern root in Georgia.

On the big screen, the stand-up comedian became a favorite of comic actor Adam Sandler and was cast in many of his comedies, including The Waterboy (1998), Little Nicky (2000), Mr. Deeds (2002), and 50 First Dates (2004). The stand-up comedian recently received critical acclaim as Drew Barrymore's father in the hit movie 50 First Dates (2004). The comic actor also replaced the late Jim Varney as the voice of Slinky Dog in 2010's Toy Story 3.

The stand-up comedian has traveled the world doing stand-up comedy and recently went to Iraq for an extended USO Comedy Tour with Drew Carey.
