Telling Jokes is a stand-up comedy, performed by the British stand-up comedian, Jimmy Carr. The stand-up comedy was resealed on 2 November, 2009 by the 4DVD Studio and set at the Bloomsbury theatre in London.
The stand-up comedy is the comedian’s most controversial DVD to date and was released in order to mark the comedian’s 10 years in comedy. Featuring over 90 minutes of material that’s just too rude for television, the stand-up comedy sees Jimmy Carr at his best. The DVD also features a stack of exclusive extras from Britain’s foremost, multi-award-winning joke technician. The comedian’s trademark deadpan style in obviously present in this live stand-up comedy release.
On top of this stand-up special, there is also a bonus material containing: Jimmy’s Twitter Diary, Comedy Central Special (stand-up comedy performance filmed live in New York) and Bonus Stand-up Material (exclusive unseen out-takes and deleted scenes). These 40 minutes of bonus features it really makes this comedy product one of his best.
The stand-up comedian has the same offended comedy style like in his old performances so if you are easily offended, I don’t recommend you this DVD. Subjects like: pedophilia, sex, rape, religion are present in the comedian’s routines. The comedian’s attempt at creating the shortest jokes possible using just two to four words is already well known for his audience. This stand-up comedy has some of the best routines from the comedian’s comedy tour, and new ones also. The DVD is full with belly-laughing material. One scene in particular, involving a drunken audience member leaving to go to the toilet and returning to find that his seat has been taken is hysterically funny.
The stand-up comedian’s humour is great, he delivers the jokes brilliantly, but watching him interacting with audience (and taking on hecklers) that's real pleasure. If you're not easy to shock and you like the harder more offensive jokes, and laughing until you almost pee yourself this is the right stand-up comedy for you.
The stand-up comedian is always funny, but this stand-up comedy, in my opinion is his best DVD yet, cracking jokes told with skill, 10 out of 10. The DVD is definitely worth purchasing.
