Stand up comedian Patrice O’Neal had a stroke last week, according to the comedian’s friend Jim Norton on the Opie and Anthony Show. There isn’t much information about the 41 years old stand up comedian who just participated at the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen.
"We wanted it to come from us ... we don't know how he is. We don't know how he's going to be," said Jim Norton on the air on Wednesday. "I didn’t want to do this by myself. I wish we had more news for you."
Patrice O’Neal is considered to be a "comedian's comedian," known for his cutting, often confrontational crowd work during which he frequently plays couples against each other. O'Neal’s first television appearance was on The Apollo Comedy Hour where he performed his Malcolm XXL bit. From there, he moved on to appearances on Showtime at the Apollo, Friday Night Videos, and a brief stint as a writer for the WWE. He also appeared on MTV’s Apt 2F, Assy McGee, Ed, Z Rock, Yes Dear, Arrested Development, Chappelle Show and The Office.
