Billy Connolly: Career
In 1966, after he had completed a five-year apprenticeship as a boilermaker, stand-up comedian Billy Connolly accepted a ten-week job building an oil platform in Nigeria. Upon his return to Scotland, he worked at John Brown & Company, but focused increasingly on being a folk singer.
Billy Connolly: Personal Life, Wife
William "Billy" Connolly, Jr., was born on 24 November 1942. He is a Scottish comedian, musician, presenter and actor. Known especially in his native Scotland by the nickname The Big Yin (The Big One), Connolly has been married to comedian and psychologist Pamela Stephenson since 1989. He started a folk career, but then turned to comedy where we can find him today.
